Iain J McConnell has produced and presented stunning national and international Celtic music and “apres” sporting evenings over many years. He has also established a fine reputation for memorable Robert Burns events. As a past BBC broadcaster, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the production of colourful presentations and how best to impress audiences

Evenings to Remember

Iain is also a respected “After Dinner” speaker and has entertained many major UK corporates and organisations through his wide range of serious and humorous topics. His light touch of fun, blended with the theme of the evening’s address, has warmed audiences to him no matter where he has performed. He has also presented and produced Royal Gala Evenings blending the words of Burns with the Celtic and international music fields in stunning colourful events that have enchanted audiences

His knowledge of Robert Burns and the importance of his legacy to Scotland is second to none. He has presented the annual tribute programmes to the poet on BBC Radio Scotland and on the BBC World Service. Over the past 30 years, he has also presented the “Immortal Memory” and other Burns night speeches on many memorable occasions both national and international including the European Parliament’s Burns night celebrations in Brussels in 2005 where he performed for MEPs, officials and guests from member states of the EU. In January 2006, Iain received great acclaim when he delivered the “Immortal Memory” before nearly 900 guests at the Calgary Burns Club Dinner in Canada

Over the past couple of years, Iain has been developing and updating whole Robert Burns night packages including providing speakers and musicians to fit into the modern theme of the 21st century Burns dinner. His own unique “Immortal Memory” is now in great demand in the UK and overseas. To mark the Burns anniversary on the 25th of January 2008, Prestige-events-scotland organised the biggest Robert Burns evening ever held in East Lothian which over 500 guests attended

To great acclaim, Iain delivered his unique "Immortal Memory" at the event. He also delivered the Immortal Memory wirh Celine Donoghue in front of nearly 300 appreciative guests in Glasgow at the beginning of February and presented the annual William Will Lecture at the Burns Club of London in the Caledonian Club

2009......A Year to Honour Our Bard

2009 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. In his short 37 years, this simple Ayrshire ploughman rose to become Scotland’s national hero and poet. Through his poetry and songs, his name is legend throughout the world. Over 300 songs were penned by the Bard with Auld Lang Syne the best known and loved of all. The finest tribute that Scotland and the world can pay to this man of genius is to pursue his vision and call for greater harmony and friendship across the people of all nations. Let the powerful words of the master sum it up.
